Buying a camera as a Christmas present? Check delivery arrangements, the exact accessories supplied and the return period before you order. This page brings together the practical gift questions; individual product listings still determine condition, testing and contents.

UK delivery and dispatch

  • Free UK standard delivery: Royal Mail Tracked 48.
  • Express: Royal Mail Special Delivery, available at checkout. Check the charge and service offered for your address before paying.
  • Dispatch cutoff: 12 noon UK time. We also dispatch on Saturdays.

Dispatch is when your parcel leaves us; it is not the same as delivery. Orders placed after the cutoff may leave on the next dispatch day. Contact us about timing close to Christmas or around bank holidays.

When should I order for Christmas?

Order early and check with us if arrival by a particular date matters. We have not confirmed a final Christmas order date on this page. Neither a carrier service name nor ordering before noon is a blanket promise of Christmas arrival. Ask about your destination and intended delivery date before ordering.

Christmas gifts and returns

You can request a return within 30 days of receiving your item, including discounted cameras and equipment. The clock starts on receipt, not Christmas Day. There is no separate extended Christmas return period. Keep your order details and contact us to start a return; read the full returns terms for the process and conditions.

Gift-choice and delivery questions

Can you help me choose a suitable camera?

Yes. Tell us your budget, the recipient's experience, whether they want film or digital, and any listing you are considering. Start with beginner gifts or retro digital gifts. Avoid assuming an unfamiliar format or lens mount will fit equipment they already own.

Are film, batteries, chargers and cards included?

Only assume an accessory is supplied when the individual listing and photographs confirm it. Ask us about anything unclear. A tested camera is not automatically a complete starter kit. Film cameras may need the correct film and battery; digital cameras may need a compatible battery, charger, memory card and photo-transfer method.

Can I send a gift directly to the recipient?

Enter the intended recipient's delivery address at checkout and check it carefully before paying. If you need anything special for the parcel, ask before ordering rather than assuming it can be added after dispatch. Read our shipping policy for the store's gift options.

What about orders outside the UK?

UK service names and timings do not describe international delivery. Check the options and charges for the destination at checkout, or contact us if it is not offered. Allow for customs handling and any destination charges described in our shipping policy. This page makes no international Christmas-arrival promise.

What if my parcel is delayed or damaged?

Check the tracking information and contact us with your order number and a description of the issue. If there is visible damage, keep the packaging and photographs where possible so we can investigate. Do not post private order or address details publicly.
