Sending a Camera Gift to the UK from the USA

Buying a camera for someone in the UK while you are in the United States (or anywhere else overseas) is simple with us: you order online, we post it inside the UK, and your recipient gets a tested camera with free tracked delivery and no import charges. This page explains how it works.

How it works

  1. Choose a camera. Browse Christmas camera gifts, birthday gifts or all cameras. Every item is tested and photographed by us, and the listing says exactly what is included.
  2. Enter the recipient's UK address as the shipping address at checkout, and your own address as the billing address. Check the postcode carefully.
  3. Pay in pounds. Prices are shown in GBP. US-issued Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards are accepted, as are Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay; your card issuer converts the amount to dollars at its own rate (some cards add a small foreign-transaction fee).
  4. Tell us it is a gift. Add a note at checkout or email us with your order number and we will treat the parcel as a gift.
  5. We post it within the UK. Orders placed before 12 noon UK time (7am Eastern, 4am Pacific) are dispatched the same working day, Monday to Saturday, by Royal Mail Tracked 48. Special Delivery (next working day) is available at checkout for a small charge. You receive the tracking link by email.

Why buying from a UK dealer is easier than shipping from the US

  • No customs, duties or import VAT for your recipient: the parcel never leaves the UK. UK VAT is already included in our prices.
  • Free tracked delivery to any UK address, usually within two to three working days of dispatch.
  • 30-day returns from receipt, so if the camera is not quite right your recipient can exchange it after the big day.
  • UK-compatible everything: chargers supplied with digital cameras have UK plugs, and film and batteries for the cameras we sell are readily available on the UK high street.

Choosing from a distance

If you cannot ask the recipient what they would like, our gift picks by budget and person are a good start: an easy 35mm compact for a first camera, a classic SLR kit for someone keen, a retro CCD digital compact for the nostalgia, or a folding camera for a collector. Still unsure? Email us with your budget and a little about the person, and we will suggest two or three options. We reply in UK office hours, so allow for the time difference.

Christmas timing

For Christmas 2026, order by 12 noon UK time on Friday 18 December for free Tracked 48 delivery, or by 12 noon UK time on Wednesday 23 December for Special Delivery, to be posted by Royal Mail's last recommended dates. Earlier is always safer. Full details on our Christmas delivery and gift help page.

Want it sent to the US instead?

We ship worldwide. Choose your US address at checkout and the international shipping options and charges will be shown before you pay. International parcels may be subject to US import duties on arrival, which are the buyer's responsibility, and delivery typically takes one to two weeks. See our shipping policy.

Frequently asked questions

Will the recipient see the price?

Tell us it is a gift at checkout or by email and we will not include price information in the parcel.

Can I have it delivered on a specific day?

Royal Mail does not offer timed delivery on standard services. If the date matters, choose Special Delivery (next working day after dispatch) and tell us the date you are aiming for.

What if there is a problem with the camera?

Every camera is tested before it is listed and graded on our condition scale. If anything is wrong, either you or the recipient can contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will put it right. We are an established UK dealer with 11+ years' experience and over 12,600 sales.

Do you sell gift cards?

Not at the moment. If you would rather the recipient chose their own camera, contact us and we will help you arrange it.
